Who We Are?

About Me

My passion for animals began at a young age. I was extremely fascinated with wolves; they are majestic, powerful, and highly intelligent creatures. I find that our canine companions of today are domesticated versions of wolves geared toward certain tasks and jobs.

After high school, I left my family to play collegiate sports. Being away from them was very difficult which resulted in my day-to-day life being plagued with social anxiety. Our family doctor recommended a therapy companion and to have him/her trained as a service animal. After much research and deliberation, I got my first Doberman puppy – Leonidas (Leo). Through time I learned how smart, loving, and willing dogs are to please their owners. I enjoyed learning with Leo and watching him light up every time he learned a new skill! We continued to build and strengthen our bond every day.

After college graduation, I was blessed to play professional basketball abroad. With such a fast-paced lifestyle traveling the world, I believed it would be better to leave Leo home with my siblings. Though I was in pursuit of my dream of basketball I always felt like there was something was missing; I could not quite put my finger on it. I would often call home to check on Leo and my family. To hear that my pup was checking daily, waiting for me to come home and greet him at the door stirred a profound longing.

When I returned home after the season had ended, Leo’s excitement to see me was unrivaled. He was ready to please immediately! It was right then that I realized what I had been missing – my best friend! I spent the next off season working with him and we picked up where we left off, without missing a beat. This is when my passion for training took off! I found myself helping neighbors and friends with their dogs, and watching them build a stronger bond was just as rewarding as the dream I had previously chased! I became hungrier to learn more about the craft of training. Through time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge through experience, my mentor, and much research. I have a vast understanding of how dogs work and how to properly communicate with them in a balanced way. Now I want to bring what I have learned to you and your family!
